EAST BAY Another Barrington representative on the Bristol County Water Authority board of directors has stepped down. Lloyd Matsumoto recently informed the Barrington Town Council that he was not seeking reappointment to his post on the board.
Mr. Matsumoto filled one of the three Barrington chairs on the nine-member board of directors; Allan Klepper and new member Kevin Fitta are the other two Barrington directors. Mr. Fitta was appointed to the board recently after John McElroy resigned in September 2011.
At its Feb. 6 meeting, the town council interviewed one resident who had applied for the BCWA board opening, but later decided to re-advertise the position. Council member Jeff Brenner said the decision to re-advertise should not reflect on the qualifications of the lone applicant.
“It did come up quickly,” Mr. Brenner said of Mr. Matsumoto’s resignation.
