William J. Lavey Jr., 68, of Warren, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at Crestwood Nursing Home in Warren.
Born in Fall River, a son of Maria (Primiano) Lavey and the late William J. Lavey Sr., he was the beloved husband of Claudette (Landry) Lavey.
Mr. Lavey was an HVAC specialist for the Diocese of Providence. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, bowling and was an avid golfer.
He was the stepfather of Kristin Chase of Rumford; brother of Kathleen Francis of Warren; and he leaves his two beloved grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Chase of Rumford, and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, where family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25. Funeral services start at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, from the funeral home, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Jean Baptiste Church, Main Street. Interment will follow at St. Alexander’s Cemetery.
